Billy and Virgia's last night in town. Instead of going out and getting drunk in the American tradition of seeing someone off, we opted for my preffered mode of celebration..
The teahouse.
I tend to spend a lot of time here, relaxing and reading. I also tend to spend a lot of money here, but the tea is especially delicious and I enjoy spending time with the owners--and the waitstaff is quite attractive.
One of my favorite photo muses are the motorbike drivers. To me, they truly symoblize China more than so many other things. This is probably the number one occupation of the Chinese male.
This is taken outside our school gate where just about everyday they see me and shout "HELLO!" or "NICE TO MEET YOU" or any other english phrase which they have picked up somewhere. Lately they have rehearsed it to where 20 of them shout hello at the top of their lungs at the same time. They love it of course.
I also love their outfits--traditional Chinese suit attire to cover the occasion.
I have not posted enough pictures of my students. Here are two of them on the bus--typically, it is difficult to get pictures of them because they tend to get very shy in front of the camera, as this picture shows.
